MBCambodia Supports Cambodian Entrepreneurs to Enhance Digital Branding and Expand the Potential of Khmer Products into International Markets
Phnom Penh, July 10, 2026: MB Bank (Cambodia) Plc. (MBCambodia), as an active collaborative partner supporting the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce through GS1 Cambodia, co-organized a workshop themed " Digital Branding & Visual Marketing for Khmer Products" The initiative aims to drive financial inclusion, product diversification, and elevate the potential of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cambodia.
The workshop focused primarily on supporting local entrepreneurs and producers to gain a deeper understanding of digital technology usage, brand building, and high-quality content creation. These elements are vital to empowering Khmer products to be more competitive in both domestic and international markets, utilizing the shared experience, vision, and insights of expert speakers from relevant fields.
The event was presided over by H.E. Oknha Nguon Mengtech, Director General of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Representative of Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for Cambodia. The workshop drew more than 150 participants, including members of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, representatives from GS1 Cambodia, relevant ministries and associations, banking partners, retail and supermarket partners, vendors, producers, and traders.
Speaking at the workshop, H.E. Oknha Nguon Mengtech, Director General of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, stated that in this digital era, markets are no longer confined by geographical borders, while the "location" of a business is now right on the "customer's smartphone." He emphasized that digital branding offers major benefits, enabling small enterprises in the provinces to transform into nationwide recognized brands and expand into international markets without needing physical storefronts everywhere. This can be achieved through high-quality photos and videos, alongside the implementation of the "884" barcode prefix to verify national identity.
On this occasion, Mr. Him Phirom, Chief Retail Banking of MBCambodia, remarked: "For Khmer products to compete in today's digital market, it is essential for business owners to have access to adequate capital, robust digital marketing strategies, and attractive brand promotion."
