MBCambodia Convenes Mid-Year 2026 Town Hall: 1H Performance Review & 2H Strategic Outlook
Phnom Penh, July 18, 2026 – MB Bank (Cambodia) Plc. (MBCambodia) successfully hosted its Mid-Year 2026 Town Hall, bringing together senior and middle leadership across the Bank. Under the banner of "1H Performance Review & 2H Strategic Outlook," the event served as a critical platform to evaluate first-half business results, navigate macroeconomic headwinds, and outline a focused roadmap to drive sustainable, high-quality growth for the remainder of the year.
The Town Hall commenced with an executive briefing by Mr. Nguyen Anh Khanh, Chief Executive Officer, who reviewed the current operating environment. Against a backdrop of cautious market sentiment, MBCambodia demonstrated strong risk discipline and institutional resilience. Through proactive portfolio monitoring and tailored debt restructuring solutions, the Bank successfully maintained a Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio of just 1.04%, remaining well below its 2.5% internal ceiling. Additionally, effective liquidity management enabled the Bank to manage funding costs efficiently.
Looking ahead, the CEO outlined six strategic priorities for 2H2026: driving quality business growth, diversifying funding sources, accelerating fee income, expanding digital capabilities, optimizing operational efficiency, and strengthening debt management. Special emphasis was placed on proactive portfolio management, focusing on early-warning actions to resolve watchlist accounts and safeguard overall asset quality. Additionally, strategic spotlight initiatives across Retail Business Loans, SME Solutions, Premier Banking, and Transaction Banking were highlighted, reflecting MBCambodia’s dual focus on expanding core business drivers while enhancing institutional resilience.
Building upon the corporate transformation vision established earlier this year—“Change from within. Strong at the core. Effective in action”—the Mid-Year Town Hall reinforced the importance of cross-functional alignment, operational efficiency, and customer-centricity. Looking toward the end of 2026, MBCambodia is positioning itself to achieve sustainable balance sheet growth and profitability, all while maintaining strict NPL controls below 1.2%.
"In a challenging market environment, our long-term success relies on maintaining disciplined risk management, diversifying our revenue streams, and maximizing productivity across all teams," stated Mr. Nguyen Anh Khanh, Chief Executive Officer. "By remaining focused on quality growth and executing with agility, MBCambodia is well-positioned to deliver sustainable value to our clients, support local businesses, and reinforce our position as a trusted financial partner in the Kingdom."
